Sports Camps strive to give students an opportunity to learn new skills by participating in group and individual training, while reinforcing and incorporating previously learned skills. Student campers are introduced to small game competition to improve their ability to perform in a “game situation” all while utilizing Lab’s state-of-the-art facilities. Also, the coach-to-camper ratio is kept at an optimal level to provide each camper with a challenging yet successful learning environment.

All camps place children within groups of similar skill levels so that the coaching received is appropriate to each child. Care is exercised in grouping children in physical sports with people of similar size and athletic abilities. Sports Camps’ coaching staff includes accomplished Varsity and JV coaches from Lab School. Love of the game, fair play, and good sportsmanship rank high among teaching and coaching objectives.

Sports Camps Formats: Camps are scheduled in three two-week sessions. Students may select the same sport for all three sessions; different camps for each session; or two sessions of one sport, and one session of another sport.

Extra Week Provisions (New for 2008): If your student is coming to Summer Lab 2008 for only three weeks, you may be interested in our 'Extra Week' option. Add a week to Sports Camps Session I or Session III by making your sport and session selection on the registration form, and selecting 'Extra Week' in the corresponding drop-down menu.
