Parents
From the New Parents' Reception in September to graduation receptions in June, parents
enrich the experience for children at the Laboratory Schools. Highlights include the following:
- Parents donated a record $478,931 to the Schools' unrestricted annual fund, the Community of
Givers. The Parents' Association donated $150,000 to the scholarship endowment after a successful
Connections 2004 dinner dance.
- The Parents' Association Grants Program awarded funds for innovative teaching and student
initiatives at all school levels, encouraging professional development and enhancement of
educational objectives.
- Parents organized a textbook buyback/resale program that benefited hundreds of middle and
high school families.
- Parents helped students collect and donate school supplies for shipment to Iraqi children.
- Parents, along with teachers and administrators, helped interview and hire the new Middle
School principal.
From visits to enrich classroom activities to arrangements for community service programs, our
resourceful, generous, and creative parents provide extraordinary enhancements to the educational
life of the Laboratory Schools.
