Since 1998, I've been Lab Schools' Director of Information Technology. My duties include:
Before becoming the DIT, I taught Kindergarten, Third, and Fourth Grade at Lab for many years. Intrigued by emerging learning technologies, I developed many classroom projects to integrate them with progressive pedagogy for students' benefit. These early experiences shaped the educational perspective I bring to the task of leading an increasingly complex, sophisticated, evolving IT operation.
My wife and I live in northwest Indiana. My daughter is busy becoming a lawyer, and my son is an Army officer attached to the 10th Mountain Division. In my spare time, I enjoy bicycling, cooking, spectator sports, whitewater rafting, and nurturing my inner child.
I'm happy to meet with your group about particular technology topics or do a general presentation about technology at the Laboratory Schools, so please don't hesitate to invite me if need be.
To explore the world of managing IT in the K-12 arena with me, you're invited to read or subscribe to my blog, DITBits.
