Visit Us

An important part of the process of applying to the Laboratory Schools is the school visit. All applicant families are required to tour the schools. Our school tours are conducted by parent volunteers or admissions personnel. All tours must be arranged in advance by calling the Admissions Office at 773-702-9451. We are not able to accommodate children of unscheduled visitors on the tours.

The Laboratory Schools is located at 1362 East 59th Street, on the campus of the University of Chicago. Because street parking is limited, we strongly recommend that visitors park in the lot on the southwest corner of Stony Island and 60th Street, where a shuttle service is provided to and from the Lab Schools only on tour days.

NURSERY AND KINDERGARTEN TOURS (Adults only)

ADMISSIONS TOUR DATES: Tours convene promptly at 9:00 a.m. in Judd Hall, Room 126 and concludes at 11:00 a.m.

GRADES 1 - 5 TOURS (Adults only)

ADMISSIONS TOUR DATES: Tours convene promptly at 9:00 a.m. in Judd Hall, Room 126 and concludes at 10:40 a.m.

GRADES 6 and 7 OPEN HOUSE or TOUR (Parents and Applicants)

• Middle School Open House, Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.
  

Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend the Open House.

• If it is not possible to attend the open house, parents and students should arrange to attend a group tour. Tour dates are scheduled individually by calling the Admissions Office at 773-702-9451.

GRADES 9, 10, and 11 OPEN HOUSE or TOUR (Parents and Applicants)

• High School Open House, Sunday, October 26, 2008. Tours begin promptly at 1:00, 1:45, 2:30 and 3:15 p.m.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend the Open House.

Families interested in the Laboratory Schools, but who are not ready to make application for their children, are encouraged to visit us in April and May for our Spring tours. Please call the Admissions Office in March for available dates.
