Words From the N/K and Lower School Principals

Beverly Biggs, Lower School principal

Carla Young, Nursery/Kindergarten principal

A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who made Connections such a success. The "connections" that are made mean so much to our community. We would especially like to thank the Kid Art Committee who worked tirelessly to support the classroom projects, and the teachers whose creativity and energy make this project the success it is. Given one simple idea—a ball to turn into a globe—teachers generated art that ranged from solar systems to Magritte sculptures to snow globes. John Dewey would be proud!

While we have just finished celebrating one tradition at Lab, we are getting ready to inaugurate another, Grandparents/Grandfriends Day, on Friday, May 2. The day will begin with a breakfast at International House where grandparents/friends can learn more about our school. We will then spend time in Nursery, Kindergarten, and Lower School classrooms. The morning will conclude with an optional tour of the Schools. More information will be going home with children before Spring Break. We look forward to starting this new tradition in our community.
